The piece below is the visual manifestation of the poem. It was created when I took a break from the poem. The brown ink was made from ingredients my mother used to cook with when she was alive: Peanut oil, soy, powdered pepper & salt, oyster sauce, rice wine, powdered cinnamon, five spice powder, chili oil, powdered star anise, garlic, Chinese vinegar, brown sugar, and crushed chili flakes.
